Chevron also attended the third edition of the FPSO Symposium, an important technical event on floating, production, storage and offloading, promoted by the Brazilian Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE Brazil) on September 26 and 27 in Rio. The objective was to bring together professionals from different areas to exchange technical knowledge and discuss the next generations of FPSOs.  

Maria Ximenes, Marine Technical and Projects at Chevron Shipping, was part of the event’s coordination committee; and Robert Seah, Digital and Integrity Lead at Chevron, participated in the panel on advanced integrity management through design and technologies applied in the oil and gas industry to overcome challenges and achieve better results.

At the opening of the event, Maria highlighted the importance of developing new technologies to maintain the life extension of FPSOs with the aim of increasing operational efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

At the meeting, Robert presented methodologies and technologies for integrated management and life extension of FPSOs. For that, he explained the importance of this process, citing examples of the technologies and innovations that are helping Chevron increase the efficiency of its facilities and operations worldwide.
