In Brazil, as in all our operations around the globe, we operate in accordance with local laws and regulations as well as recognized industry standards, and continue to search for new ways to minimize our footprint and improve our environmental and social performance.
Our Health, Environment and Safety group supports our core business develop energy in an environmentally responsible manner by providing advice, technical support, guidance as well as monitoring and reporting on our performance with a focus on preventing high-consequence incidents.
The company is committed to conducting its operations safely and efficiently. Therefore, we work continuously to achieve operational excellence in our activities through the use and application of policies, processes, tools and behavioral expectations.
Chevron Brasil also has implemented environmental projects for the research and monitoring of cetaceans on the country’s coastal area and also supports an environmental education program to raise awareness of coastal communities in particular the youth.
At every stage of every project, the safety of our people, the communities and protection of the environment remain our focus.
Chevron is committed to conducting its operations safely and efficiently, which includes efforts to manage and reduce operational waste in its activities. The Pollution Control Project (PCP), which aims to manage effluents, atmospheric emissions and solid waste generated from our operations in Brazil, is part of this effort and is development in alignment with the law and according to Chevron standards.
The initiative provides for the tracking and recording of all waste generated and the evaluation of ways to save energy consumption and natural resources in accordance with Chevron's principles of Operational Excellence and best practices in Brazil.
