Chevron Shipping Marine and Technical Projects General Manager, Maria Ximenes presented the company’s efforts to seek innovative technological solutions for developing deepwater fields during a panel at OTC Brasil, held on October 24 in Rio de Janeiro.

Maria was a panelist with executives from major oil operators such as Petrobras, Equinor, TotalEnergies, and from O&G service companies such as SBM Offshore and ABB Automation in the panel that discussed the current status and future projections of floating and subsea technologies.

During her speech, Maria explained how the company has been working to develop innovative technological solutions to help provide ever cleaner and affordable energy. She presented examples of technologies that are in development, qualification, or implementation by the company such as autonomous and remotely operated facilities, robotics integrated with artificial intelligence and subsea power generation, for example. 

In addition to the lecture, Chevron was represented by Claudia Rassi, Senior Geologist in Brazil, as a chair in the technical session Reservoir and Fluid Characterization on October 26. The session addressed topics related to reservoir and fluid parameters that allow us to understand the reservoir's ability to store hydrocarbons and produce them.
