feature story Evelyn Vilchez is the new Chevron Brasil Country Manager

After serving as Chevron Mexico Country Manager for six years, Evelyn Vilchez takes Chevron Brasil country manager position from May 1st. She replaces Mariano Vela, who - after four and a half years at the head of the company's business in the country - took a leadership role in one of Chevron's largest operations in Venezuela.

Evelyn has over 30 years of experience in upstream and midstream areas working in a variety of positions that includes business development, strategic planning and commercial roles.

The executive joined Chevron in 1998 and since then has been working in numerous positions of increasing responsibility in United States, Venezuela and Angola. Among the leadership positions she held, Evelyn was Chevron Business Coordinator at Angola LNG, where she was responsible for oil and gas business development, strategic planning, gas commercialization and LNG financial valuations. She was also LNG Comercial Director, in Houston, and Planning Manager in Chevron Venezuela.

She is graduated in Computer Engineering from Tulane University of Louisiana, with a master’s degree in information management from Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración in Caracas, Venezuela. She also has an MBA in Corporate Finance from Universidad del Zulia.
