Chevron participates again in the FPSO Symposium, hosted by the Brazilian Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) on September 12 and 13, in Rio de Janeiro. In its second edition, the event gathered professionals from different areas to exchange technical knowledge and discuss the new generation of FPSOs and the challenges of this industry.

Chevron is one of the sponsors of the symposium and was represented by Maria Ximenes, General Manager, Marine Technical and Projects at Chevron Shipping, as chair of the session “FPSO of the Future in a net-zero GHG emissions era”; and Greg Kusinski, Chevron North America E&P Regulatory Affairs Team Lead, as a speaker in the panel “Regulatory safety challenges in FPSO operations”.

At the panel, held on September 12, Greg brought an overview of regulatory evolution related to safety operations in the Gulf of Mexico as well as addressed how Chevron’s OE process meets the U.S. legislation requirements.
